ASPBAE published a series of papers on the impact of national education policy on indigenous peoples. A summary brochure regarding 5 indigenous case studies was disseminated widely at CONFINTEA VI in Belem, Brazil from 1-4 December. The Australian and Indian reports have been published and can be downloaded at the ASPBAE website www.aspbae.org with the other three soon to follow.
In addition ASPBAE continued to provide input into the drafts of key documents leading up to CONFINTEA VI, ensuring recognition of the importance of ESD and also the Decade for ESD (DESD). ASPBAE circulated several policy papers on adult literacy, women literacy and indigenous education at the Conference.
