Often young people are referred to as future leaders. To become true future leaders young people need to be given the opportunity today to have their say, express their views at all levels without intimidation on social, economic, and environmental issues affecting them. There is no other urgent call more prevalent than their call for the preservation of the environment they live in today for their future. In Tahiti French Polynesia in July 2006 over 1000 young people all over the Pacific during the first ever Pacific Youth Festival ever held in the region called on the society stakeholders, they (young people) and their communities must assumed responsibility as stewards of the earth. The Youth Leadership Course currently offered through DFL under the CCE Program at USP have been going for some years. Given the whole purpose of COE the course needs to be revised and redeveloped ESD re-oriented.
Main Activities:
Revision and rewriting of existing course to accommodate ESD principles, and pilot delivery of the course.
