Saraburi Province, Thailand

Representatives of the Centre of Excellence (COE) gathered in Bangkok, Thailand for two days to participate in the COE Teambuilding Workshop of the ACCU-UNESCO Asia-Pacific ESD Programme (9-10 December 2006) organized by ACCU.

The objective of this workshop was to define common goals and mission of the “2006-2010 ACCU-UNESCO Asia-Pacific COE Programme for ESD”, particularly by situating the programme in broader ESD initiatives at the Asia-Pacific level.

During the workshop, COE representatives had the opportunity to visit a Thai village in Saraburi Province and learned about how local people preserve cultural heritage and lead sustainable livelihood such as by engaging in organic farming.
