ACCU took part in the ESD Lesson Design Festa, organised by ESD School-Net, in Saitama, Japan, 18-19 August, 2007. The Festa was a great success with participation of school teachers, student-teachers, NGO/NPO staff members, university professor, a city council member, private companies, etc. Variety of on-going initiatives of the integration of ESD into school education, the linkage between local and global education, school education in Sweden, ESD materials development in the Asia-Pacifc Region were shared among the participants, which provoked a series of discussion and provided food for thoughts for the participants’ future activities on ESD. ACCU introduced the Package Learning Materials on Environment (PLANET) and its utilisation in school education from an ESD perspective. In the following workshop, the participants came up with sample lesson plans using PLANET.
