Outline
The Package Learning Materials on Environment (PLANET) programme marks its 10th anniversary in the year 2007. In the past ten years, ACCU and its partner organisations, in collaboration with diverse stakeholders including UNESCO, have been providing learning opportunities of environment education as well as Education for Sustainable Development. This, in turn, has yielded the accumulation of rich experiences and lessons learnt gained from local PLANET activities in the Asia-Pacific region.
With a view to sharing those accumulated experiences towards the betterment of the PLANET programme, ACCU organised the Review and Sharing Workshop for the Effective Development of PLANET Programme from 3 to 6 October 2006 in Tokyo, Japan, in co-operation with the Japanese National Commission for UNESCO, as one of the “Scholars and Professionals Invitation Project” within the framework of the “2006/07 ACCU Invitation Programme for International Education Exchange of Teachers and Professionals”. With the following participants, the workshop was successfully concluded, yielding countless outputs and the feeling of connectedness among PLANET friends.
