The report aims at sharing an innovative experience of developing media with and for the street children in Bandung region of Indonesia. The paper opines that street children's media provide a communication channel among street children themselves. It also demonstrates how an interactive media model could be developed by and for the street children themselves. Finally, the report provides exemplar media materials developed by the street children participated in this project.

1 Objectives The report lists the following as its major Objectives:
To obtain an understanding about how media development for the street children can used in a participatory fashion;
To design and develop potential models of media development based on the extensive research of street children's daily activities and their world of work; and
To facilitate participants in the project to develop their creativity to solve literacy problems.

Trained facilitators and several assistants.

Well developed games and play activities for street children.
4 Process
Use of PRA/REFLECT method in the teaching Process;
Extensive use of games without using any reading materials;
Involvement of street children in the preparation of learning activities and organization of group activities and in discussions about the aims and agenda of the project; and
Identification of participants, their activities and problems.
5 Output
Developed models of media for street children's literacy programmes.
Enhanced participants' knowledge about the participatory media development.
Attitudinal reform and transformation among the street children and integration of these children in the mainstream of normal life.
Printing and dissemination of interesting articles, stories and play activities developed by the learners.
6 Strengths
Learning more by play activities rather than by direct teaching-learning Process.
Recognition of participants' creativity in developing several media modes.
Sequential Process of integrating street children through the organization of several meetings and building in them a strong sense of tolerance, honesty, solidarity, politeness and respect for others.
Periodic evaluation of the programmes and activities to adjust the programmes.
