Publication of Literacy Watch Bulletin

In order to advocate for the promotion of literacy and non-formal education in Nepal, National Resource Center for Non-Formal Education Nepal has been publishing the Literacy Watch Bulletin on behalf of the National Terakoya
Committee and National Literacy Watch Committee Nepal since 1997. It was supported by National Federation of
UNESCO Associations in Japan (NFUAJ). So far 14 issues of the Bulletin have been published and 4 more issues

The bulletin has also been published on web site through Internet. It has been successful to provide vital information and critical review of the performance of various aspects of the Basic Education especially non formal education and its relation with human development. Publication of Wall Newspaper

The newly literate people need variety of interesting materials to study. Other wise they will forgot what they learn. In order to fulfill the needs of neo literates. NRC-NFE has published Wall Newspaper entitled "Sikchya and Bikash for Neo literates bi -monthly. It has provided useful knowledge, skills and information that is relevant for daily life of learners. It also carried more functional knowledge related with health, family planning, nutrition, environment, agriculture, rural technology, enterprenership development, co-operative, saving and credit and women's empowerment. The wallnewspaper was print in 1999 with the financial assestant from the World Bank . Each wall newspaper has special column related to learners' daily life. In the year 2000 six wall newspapers were published.
