It is our decision-either we conserve our environment or destroy it.
We know that cutting of trees is necessary for our survival but planting of trees is also our duty.
Messages of environment conservation have been given in a simple and innovative manner
IInnovativeness: raising questions to the learners rather than giving simplistic solutions.
Material Development Process
Material was developed under UNFPA project of Population and Development Education. Theme was decided after several discussions with the experts. Several materials were available on the subject. Those materials were reviewed and discussions were held with the learners to decide the contents. Material was pre-tested in 5 literacy centres of Delhi. The dummies were left with the learners for 10 days. After that their reactions were collected through structured proforma. During training of field functionaries material was tested with them also. On demand from U.P. the book was translated in to Urdu.

Impact of the Material at the organizational and national level

At national level, the material was very much appreciated. In 1987, the photo novella was a new concept. Many other SRCs have followed the pattern.
Most of the copies have been utilized.
The book was awarded a prize by the National Book Trust.
