We are pleased to announce the publication of the report on the International Exchange Programme for Primary and Secondary School Teachers, commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) under the 2025-2026 International Coordination Programme for Education in a New Age.
This report provides a detailed overview of the programme, with a particular focus on the daily structure of the four invitation programmes for overseas teachers, participants’ reflections, and examples of how international exchange initiatives have developed following participation.
In addition to summarising the outcomes of the 2025-2026 programme, the report also presents the results of an impact evaluation conducted with participants over the past seven years. It analyses how the programme has contributed to changes among teachers in Japan and overseas from a long-term perspective.
Through participants’ perspectives, photographs, and examples of educational practice, the report offers a comprehensive view of the programme’s achievements. We invite you to explore the full report.
