Exchange with the Republic of Korea

ACCU has conducted exchange programmes between Japanese and Korean teachers with the support of the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU). The invitation programme for Korean teachers began in 2001 and the dispatch programme for Japanese teachers in 2003. Approximately 3,000 teachers in total in both countries have interacted with each other so far.

It has a long history as a neighboring country between Japan and Korea ,which is one of the most popular school excursion destinations. However, there is little opportunity to learn each educational system and current situation.
In this programme, teachers’ groups from all over the country make it a rule to visit some schools and educational organisations to deepen an exchange with students as well as teachers. Experiencing several activities with people having diverse background in two countries can encourage teachers to improve education and to develop international exchange.
