Exchange with Thailand

ACCU have organised exchange programmes between Japan and Thailand in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Thailand, . The project that invites Thai teachers to Japan began in 2015, while the programme that dispatches Japanese teachers to Thailand began in 2018. By 2019, a total of 87 Japanese and Thai teachers have participated in this programme. From 2015 to 2017, ACCU organised the International Educational Exchange Programme commissioned by the United Nations University. Since 2018, the programme has been implemented as the International Exchange Programme for Primary and Secondary School Teachersof the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan.

Along with learning the “Sufficiency Economy” ― a philosophy introduced by the former King of Thailand ― and programmes unique to Thailand that are included in the curriculum, such as the study of traditional cultures, this programme is conceived to share and enhance educational activities implemented by individual schools to achieve ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The exchange programme between Thailand and Japan allows teachers from various regions of the country to participate and visit multiple regions to learn from each other.
