The Constitution of India advocates equality of sexes. Still women are discriminated against in the society. The seed of gender discrimination is sown in the child since childhood and feeling becomes deep-rooted in the mind of male & female that they are not equal. Therefore, since childhood they must be treated as equals.
Innovativeness: Approach is innovative. The difficult topic of gender discrimination has been handled with ease. Topic is relevant to target group
Material Development Process
During various visits to field and while talking and discussing with learners/field functionaries need was felt to develop material on the topic. A book was written and later on lot of changes were made in it when core group (material development) reviewed the book. Pre-testing was done in 10 literacy centres (5 male and 5 female).
