Description of the Material
(Innovativeness and effectiveness)
Four different issues have been covered in a single game set. The material is based on learner’s need and therefore is user-friendly.
Each of the cards in the game set has a picture and few lines of text. As per the instruction of the game, players link up the cards to form four stories that impart knowledge on human trafficking, child rights, HIV/AIDS and safe migration.
Use of single game set to disseminate information on four different issues.
The way to play with the card game
Need four players to play this game.
One of the players distributes the main card (card no.1) to everyone including himself. The player on his right hand side reads out the card number, story topic and the lines written on it. The other players continue after him.
One of the players shuffles the remaining 32 cards and places the stack in the centre. The player sitting to his right picks up the first card of the stack and reads out the lines. If it matches with his story, he keeps it. Otherwise, he throws it for the player sitting to his right. If this card matches the story of the player sitting to his right, he gets to keep the card. Otherwise, he picks up a new card from the stack. The game proceeds this way.
If all the cards in the stack run out, one of the players should reshuffle the cards thrown on the floor. The one whose turn it is to pick up a card from the stack now picks it up from the reshuffled stack. The game continues in this manner.
The player who forms the story first reads it aloud for everyone. Similarly, the other players read their stories after forming it.
After all the players form their stories, they raise different questions and discuss among themselves. The observers of this game can also take part in the discussion.
